T. Kevin Carney
 
Born in Catonsville, Baltimore County, Maryland, Kevin has lived and worked in and around the 3rd Congressional District his whole life.
 
After graduating from Howard High School, and while attending Towson University, Kevin served in the United States Coast Guard Reserves. He studied Business Administration and Business Education at Towson University and student taught at Overlea High School in his senior year in 1973.
 
After obtaining his degree at Towson, while working at Loyola Federal Savings and Loan, he entered the University of Baltimore Law School and completed his law degree at night to become a member of the Bar in 1978.
 
Before starting his own business, Kevin was active in the community including pro bono legal help for seniors in Howard County through the Howard County Office of Aging.
 
Following the start of his homebuilding company, Thomas Builders, Kevin became active in the Homebuilders Association of Maryland. serving as its President, and was voted Homebuilder of the Year in 2002.
 
Kevin has served on many of the legislative committees which interface with governmental, environmental and smart growth groups including the Chesapeake Bay Foundation.
 
Kevin is currently the President of the Homebuilder Association’s Haven Foundation, a non-profit foundation whose goal is to assist needy individuals and organizations throughout the Baltimore region. Much of the work involves the renovation of shelters that serve the homeless and battered women and abused children.
 
Kevin has been married for 35 years to Marla. He is an experienced, well respected businessman with a comprehensive understanding of the business world and its importance to quality economic growth. Kevin has a strong environmental commitment towards achieving smart growth and improving the quality of life for all Marylanders.
 
There are numerous issues facing the country at this time. Kevin’s experience in business and in dealing with government agencies will allow him to help lead the way in solving the problems facing us today.
